Provide Leadership and Supervision to the Interface Components Regional Business Unit Product Management and Engineering Teams. Lead the Global VIPER I/O Marshalling and Regional Cabling Programs. This includes price policy management to Phoenix Contact Sales Subsidiaries, directing engineering resources, and defining production competencies required to meet North American market needs.
•Global Product Line Management for Varioface Professional IO Marshalling Products.
•Regional Product Line Management for Interface Cabling with focus on solutions for North American PLC and DCS systems.
•Develop a vision with the Business Unit Headquarters location.
•Develop and implement a product roadmap in collaboration with the Business Unit Headquarters.
•Provide strategic input acquired from the region to the Business Unit as needed and when requested for strategic planning sessions hosted by the Headquarter Business Unit.
•Identify product opportunities that fill gaps, take advantage of regional customer specific needs, technology specific requirements, standards specific issues or providers of technology within the region.
•Qualify the resources and metrics required to ensure financial success for proposed products or concepts.
•Lead the implementation of the development project and manage the product throughout its lifecycle.
•Direct and manage the engineering resources available to the unit.
•Create programs which include continuous improvement of the units outputs based on measured data.
•Launch products to other Regional Business Units and Subsidiaries as defined in the project scope.
•Travel to industry events, customers and subsidiaries throughout the America’s region and global product manager’s meeting to obtain data and support product launches.
•10 to 20% travel to be expected.
•Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field with at least 10 years of related industry experience or general college degree with at least fifteen years of industry experience.
•Master of Business Administration, or at least five years of product or engineering management experience.
•Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) preferred.
•Experience with Functional Safety and Intrinsically Safe applications in the area of Process Automation preferred.
•Demonstrated experience working across international markets.
•Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined teams in a product development project.
•Knowledge of project and product management procedures and the proven ability to implement them.
•Must be able to travel by air for trips up to 12 hours.
•Must be able to ride in a car for 4 hours at a time.
•Must be able to work at a desk with a computer for up to eight hours per day.
